“ Maintaining a childlike observation….. and finding of the world that you are in … which as an adult requires more leaning-in to …. to maintain that wonder of what is around us.”
clout tokens- Painted on reclaimed shop-signage (PVC) mounted to a wall of reclaimed bricks. Showing a pair of Yellow tailed Black Cockatoos, unlikely to visit this new suburb bereft of feed trees and roosts.
like the feel of lemonjelly- An opportunity to 'energise' the activities space of a secure mental health unit. A bit like a basketball court inside a bird cage.
keepsakes- Something for the courtyard of the visitors space in a secure mental health unit. I was asked to produce something to remind anyone of home in a motivating way (never in a missing home way)...
keepsakes- Crow feather and Abalone shell production shot.
on a wire- My favourite kind of brief; an open ended invitation to intercede with architecture. Here, a Regent Honeyeater, long absent in this neighbourhood painted onto a raised surface of cement render. Under the roost of an equally threatened family of Gang-Gangs.
Gum Leaves- A chance to render more permanently an experience viewed as i walk through my neighbourhood. A vote for the 'here' the 'now'.
a shared, waking state, intentional communicative collaborative dream-part I of IV. The first part of a composition to traverse the length of a laneway, to be produced section by section over 4 years.
a shared, waking state, intentional, communicative collaborative dream-Part II of IV. The second section, each composed to read as resolved while allowing space for the next intervention to grow into and from.
Dickson. Cats-Painted with Atune, hairless cats tattooed with versions our contemporaries work (painters, writers, lowbrow nuisances et al). Excitedly embraced by the local grey hairs and equally contested by the local council on behalf of said grey hairs ('They will be scared by it").
Scullin Forest- A dry eucalyptus forest ( 'under cities beachSous les Pavés, la Plage! (Under the cobblestones, the beach!)) a slice of was. Growing in density over several years as I revisit to cover public interventions and architectural changes.
